Life Long

A 5 track indie pop ep (25m 6s) — released April 23rd 2021 on Bridge The Gap Mgt

Following the release of their first two singles which saw them get support from media across the board and DSP editorial (160K streams for Hold On to date), Bahla are releasing their second EP 'Life Long'

Life Long is a cathartic inner-monologue of love, self-help and life cycles. Created by lyricist and producer Tal Janes and producer Joseph Costi, Bahla's second body of work invites us into their genre-fluid world of close-knit rhythms, celestial textures and the ethereal, yet powerful vocals of Portuguese singer Inês Loubet.

Their debut album 'Imprints' (2018) saw the duo dig deep into their Jewish roots, creating a cinematic trip through contemporary jazz and melodies drawn from across the diaspora. Described by MOJO as 'Arrestingly different' the group had several festival dates, radio appearances (BBC/JAZZ FM), a highly successful UK tour and a 7" single release with British label 'Gearbox Records', featuring two tracks from the album.

Their most recent offering 'Life Long', a 5-track self-produced EP, builds on their signature sound and has a strong focus on lyricism, production and hooks akin to the likes of Little Dragon, James Blake and Thom Yorke. Joined by long time collaborators; drummer Ben Brown, bassist Andrea Di Biase and the creative stellar work from mixer Alex Killpartrick, the EP also sees a new collaboration with electronic producer Mark Cake on the self-titled track 'Life Long'. Leaving the door open to new sonic possibilities, Bahla's identity continues to bloom with discovery whilst being grounded in rich traditions.
